Artistic night view

Last night was cold and clear. Great weather to take some nightly photos! I decided to go out and take some photos in my neighborhoods. Snow covers everything so views were quite different. I took my Canon EOS 1100D with me and I shoot many photos. Today I will share one of those shots which I made quite artistic look alike.

This shot is taken with tripod. I used Canon EOS 1100D and EF-S 18-55mm DC III lens. ISO speed was 400, max aperture value were f/3.5 when the focal length was 18mm.

This shot is merged from 3 different shots with different exposure values. I merged this HDR-image with Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 and Nik Software - HDR Efex Pro. I used some HDR effects because I wanted this HDR-image look artistic. Sky was orange when city lights colored it and here you see how much those lights really colored the sky! I also wanted to get all those nice shadows up on the snow. I hope you like this one!

HDR-image at night

This photo is taken few days ago. It was clear night and there was full moon. Snow has landed on Tampere and trees looks so beautiful. I was photographing some moonlight scenes but I wanted to take some shots of beautiful trees too.

I had my Canon EOS 1100D with me and EF-S 18-55mm DC III lens as well. I also used my tripod to take this HDR-image. It is more stable to take shots on tripod if you want a good HDR-image. ISO speed was 800 and focal length 18mm when the max aperture value was f/3.5. This HDR-image is merged from 3 shot from exposure values -2, 0 and 2.

Full moon

Last night was clear and there was almost full moon. I wanted to take some photos of fresh snow and the moon so I headed out at midnight and shot some photos. Weather was quite cold so I hurried a little bit. I took a HDR-image of the moon because one exposure can't show all the colors at night.

Again I used my 1100D and EF-S 18-55mm DC III. Focal legnth in this shot was 18mm and ISO speed 800. max aperture value was f/3.5. HDR-image is merged with Photoshop.

Pine tree

Light show on Pyynikki was great. There was many lights with different colors. One effect which catch my attention was lights under the pine tree. I set my tripod under the pine tree and shot the photo. I wanted to get all colors in this one so I made it as a HDR-image.

I used my Canon EOS 1100D and Canon EF-S 18-55mm DC III lens. I didn't use flash because the lights were great! ISO speed was 1600 because the angel was difficult. I used focal length 18mm and max aperture value were 3.5/f. I merged this HDR-image with Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 and HDR Efex Pro.

More light arts in Tampere

First week of this year was great light show in Tampere. There were many light artworks presented and one of those was red lights on Tako. I personally like reflection photos and HDR effects so this was a great target to shoot some photos. Tammerkoski gives nice reflections and brick wall have nice details for HDR-image.

This HDR-image is taken with my Canon EOS 1100D and Canon EF-S 18-55mm DC III lens. I didn't had tripod with me but there was a handrail so I set my camera on it and took photos. I didn't use flash. Focal length I used was 18mm so I got as much as I could in this photo. I can't remember ISO speed for sure but I think it was 400 or 800. I can't check exif data just now so I can't say it for sure.

HDR-image from Pyynikki and fancy lights

Tampere presents great art works at first week of this year. One of those great works was shown on Pyynikki. The tower has fancy lights and lights has placed also in the forest. Those lights were fantastic and the whole Pyynikki was beautiful.

This HDR-image is taken with my Canon EOS 1100D and EF-S 18-55mm DC III lens. I used also tripod because I wanted to use greater ISO speeds. Focal length was 18mm. This HDR-image is merged again from 3 shots with different exposure values.

Girl in HDR-image

This HDR-image is taken at New Years eve. We were watching fireworks outside and I wanted to play with my Canon EOS 1100D. I used Canon EF-S 18-55mm DC III lens and tripod to shoot this photo. It is merged from 3 different shots with Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 and HDR Efex Pro. This is my favorite HDR image at New Years eve. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Church of Kuru

I wanted to play with my Canon EOS 1100D and I haven't tried black & white photos yet with this camera so I took several shots from Church of Kuru and played a little bit. This is one of the best of black & white shots from it so I like to share it with you. I took this shot with ISO speed 200 and focal length was 18mm. I used my tripod when I shoot this photo.

Old mill

Happy New Year to everyone!

I was celebrating New Years eve at countryside. I was walking in the nearby woods and found old mill. I took many photos from it. I decided to share one of those shots here with you. I didn't have tripod with me so this shot is taken hand-held. I used higher ISO speed with this one because there was gloomy in the woods. I didn't wan't to use flash there and I think this shot is still pretty good.
